I provide a visual guide during a live meeting, workshop, or seminar to help you visualize your thoughts, communicate your mission, vision, and values more clearly and focus on your goals. Live Graphic Facilitation is an impactful way to visually align participants in real-time.
Infuse visual facilitation into your meeting to make it work for you! Together, we create a flexible meeting plan to center your goals. Through a custom visual workshop, your participants will experience a process of discovery, ideation, and commitment, bringing together the present and future to make big decisions, set goals, and explore new frontiers!
How can graphic recording and visual facilitation support you and your organizational mission? What recording style is best suited to your content? Allow me to develop a Graphic Recording or Facilitation plan that best fits your needs and those of your stakeholders or audience.
A Graphic Recording artist is a visual practitioner who uses exceptional listening and processing skills to digest meeting content into easily communicated text and images. When performed as a live service, graphic recorders can add a layer of understanding missing from most meetings. As artists, our job is to quickly display your hard work on a large whiteboard, giant roll of paper, or digitally on screens, all while you continue with your meeting objectives. By visually representing your content, meeting participants can easily follow along with statements and concepts, reduce confusion or repeat statements, aid in momentum and idea generation, and leave with an amazing representation of all the hard work they just accomplished! Graphic Facilitation includes Graphic Recording with participatory activities to bring your group to the board and get them drawing too!
The product of Live Graphic Recording and Facilitation is secondary to the recording PROCESS during the meeting. Most of the magic happens during the shared conversation, drawing, and in-the-moment community experience.
Don’t miss what someone said because you are thinking of your next idea… it’s on the board!
Collaborate: Easily see where your input can align with others’ statements and run with it!
Nip repetition in the bud!
Stay on track: Set meeting goals at the beginning and easily see where you are going, where adjustments might be beneficial, and what you could be missing.
Build morale: look at all the hard work we just accomplished!
Include everyone’s voice: as an outsider, my goal is to include everyone’s perspective, not just the voices of those in positions of power.
Conversely, Post Production Graphic Recording is all about the effects images can have after the talk, podcast, or plenary is complete. These are visuals that illustrate a continued conversation with future participants and stakeholders.
Provide accessibility to a broader range of learners.
Ask open questions of participants.
Beautifully depict your message to share with an audience.
Inspire, connect, and ask for continued conversations and collaboration.
Useful for marketing, advertising, and fundraising purposes.
POST PRODUCTION : Graphic Recording
Do you have a keynote speech, a great idea for an infographic, or a talk you present often, and would love to have a graphic recording map to walk through with your participants without having me there live?
This is your chance to collaborate with me on a post-production recording of your work!
Reach out! I love to discuss the process.
We schedule a discovery meeting (usually 30-60 minutes) to discuss your project, needs, and audience and answer any questions. We will cover your event's structure, key objectives, aesthetic considerations, branding and features that may be produced ahead of time, technology requirements, and your vision for incorporating the live drawing at your event.
You will promptly receive a proposal and contract to approve online, and we will confirm the date and times.
I will remain available via email for any questions leading up to your event. I want you to feel confident in the process and excited about your event’s outcomes!
On the day of your event, I will arrive at least 30 minutes early to set up for in-person graphic recording. For virtual streaming events, I will reach out 30 minutes before going live to check in, set up, and test any technology.
Post-event deliverables will be shared through WeTransfer within 2-3 business days of the close of your event (often sooner when possible). If applicable, any post-production illustrations or deliverables agreed upon in the contract will also be shared in the same folder within the time frame described in your contract.
After your event, keep in touch! I love collaborating on social media, sharing your event’s outcomes, and promoting your fantastic work. The culmination of your event is not the end of our working relationship, so feel free to reach out anytime!

“MaryLaura was amazing. She listened intently and was able to provide excellent real-time visuals to help us stay on track. She was flexible and able to accommodate an unexpected timing shift due to staff illness. I appreciated their ability to be a calming presence in the space while holding some challenging conversations. I find Human Beans to be an adorable tool to personify the human condition while omitting most of the descriptive elements of an individual. That said, many concepts should be representative of a specific group or individual, and working with clients on desired depictions is essential.
